Levi Gershkowitz, founder of #Istayhomeforrare, explains the origins of this charitable endeavor to help rare disease families who are struggling financially during the COVID-19 crisis.

As Gershkowitz explains in this video, this project has raised thousands of dollars that is going directly to families to assist them in a variety of ways – from paying household bills to fixing the car they need to get to doctor appointments.

Working with CureCMD as well as other organizations (Living in the Light, Remember the Girls, Cure GM1 Foundation, Uplifting Athletes, Rasopathies Net, Lipodystrophy United, One Rare, FSIG, NTSAD, Family Connections Inc, Our Odyssey, Project Ascend, Rose F Kennedy Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Research Center), I Stay Home for Rare has raised awareness of the financial struggles facing many rare disease families at this time.
