Farid Vij and Nasha Fitter, co-founders of Citizen Health, discuss how their organization helps rare disease patients.
Citizen Health was founded in 2023 as an AI-powered health platform for individuals managing rare and complex conditions. With a focus on individual health data, the platform strives to improve research to accelerate treatments for these populations.
The aggregate of personal data helps patients and families get access to guidance and actions best suited to their needs. Information gathered includes the patient’s clinical data, genetic information, imaging, and patient-reported outcomes. The platform also has the ability to connect patients and families to gather knowledge based on others’ experiences.
Recently, Citizen Health partnered with the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative and their Rare As One Project. These initiatives support patient-led organizations working to accelerate research and improve the lives of rare disease patients.
